A little off the beaten path....

Hi, I hope your enjoying this fine Labor day!!!  It's been super hot & humid here, but nice to finely get some down time :):):)

So, I've noticed these adorable little needle felted critters all over the internet and I just had to give it a go.  Trust me when I say, if you're going to try it, be very careful... I gave myself a few good stabbings with that crazy felting needle and it doesn't feel so hot!!!

The black and white kitty is in the likeness of my sweet little Hailey cat, who passed away in June this year.  It's not great, but not too shabby for my first try ;)

The second one is a cute little lop eared bunny, I made especially for my Blythe doll "Georgina".  I have yet to find subtitle eyes for this cute little bun-bun, but I am on the lookout. I tried googly eyes and didn't like them.  I think i'll try some black beads?!

All you need is:  Roving Wool, Felting needles, Foam felting pad and some eyes.

Jingle Cat Christmas Card

Here's a fun, non-traditional Christmas card... I was inspired by the cards Jingle background paper.  This adorable image is by Magenta, I filled it in with Copics and Stickles.  Added a bunch of stitching.   Made a coordinating box, so  the beautiful bow wouldn't get smushed ;)

Hope everyone had a nice weekend; eating, shopping, crafting, relaxing, etc.

Loving Memories...

It's hard to believe this month marks 1yr, since my baby Blue passed away.
As creative motivation I make a digital calender each month and naturally this months calender had to  be dedicate my sweet little boy Blue.  I chose this photo, because it's one of my favorite memories of him at my crafting table, where he would wait for me to come sit with him.  He used to sit behind me in my chairs (any chair he could fit with me) while I worked and/or crafted.
He was such a love ♥♥♥

My 1st attempt at a digital layout...

Description: Short little story behind this page....
I'm a huge George Strait fan... Love, Love, Love his music! When Blue was an itty bitty kitten and I had 1st brought him home from the shelter, within 3-days he was deathly ill. To comfort him, I would let him lay on my chest, pet him gently and sing George Strait's song "Baby Blue" to him (real quite) and it seemed to sooth the poor little guy. So, from that time forward, this was "Blue's" song, I sang in to him for years and he knew it was his song :):):)

Button inspired "Blue" kitty...

As many of you know, I've been lacking creative motivation, since Blue (kitty) passed away.  Anyway, I recently went to a swap-meet and scored more great buttons (the very last thing I needed).  While I was sorting through them, I found this button that reminded me of Blue's eyes and it inspired this......

This picture shows the true beauty and color of the button I used for the cats eye.
It's also before I glued everything down.

In this image, all the buttons are glued down to the cat silhouette.  Prior to gluing the buttons down,
I stamped the gold card-stock using white ink and a paisley background stamp.  I also hand-cut a red heart and
stamped it with white ink using a piece of burlap as the applicator.

Not sure where to take it from here, but I'll let you know once I'm done!
Cheers, Lisa

A Special Thank You....

Wow... I can't thank everyone enough for all the kind sympathy posts and emails regarding the recent passing of my precious kitty Blue. He has been gone for one month as of yesterday and I miss him to pieces.  It's been hard to get back into a creative mode, since he's been gone and I'm full of ideas, but seem to be lacking the motivation at this point. Blue was a very big part of each and every one of my days, he sat with me any chance he could... If he could fit, HA! even if he couldn't, he was always right there. He was such a sweet boy and is forever in my heart :):):)  Thank you all very much!

Here's a picture of Blue (my little muse) waiting for me to sit back down... We were crafting that day!!!!

My Fur Baby "Blue"...

Blue's my special kitty, he's been with me for 13 1/2 years and he is very loved!  He's a great photography subject and his photo's have also been used on some of my past card creations (posted below).

Blue was a pound baby and it was love at 1st sight!  There he sat in that pound kennel, watching and waiting.  He took one look at me, put his head down, closed those big baby "Blue"s, smooshed his face into the bars that restrained him, stuck both arms out, reaching with all his might and cried MEEOOOW.  All I can say is... I was in love and I couldn't adopt him fast enough♥
♥BLUE♥

One of my favorites and the sentiment suits Blue's personality!

Inside sentiment: I'll have a Blue Christmas without you!

My Baby Blue was diagnosed with CRF just over 2 weeks ago and I'm just devastated, here's the prognosis...

CRF is a terminal disease. The only questions are how long and how well the patient will live until the end. With proper treatment, the cat may have from months to years of relatively high-quality life. As the cat's caregiver(s), it is up to you to determine when the quality of life has decreased to a point at which prolonging life no longer has value.

As CRF progresses and toxin levels rise, cats become more uncomfortable with an overall sensation of feeling unwell. Human patients with a similar condition don't report "pain" but describe their condition as feeling poorly. Dehydration, in particular, can make the patient very uncomfortable. Aggressively treating CRF, especially with subcutaneous fluid therapy, should not be thought of as "prolonging the agony" as there is no significant pain associated with kidney failure until the end-stage. Even then, unless the patient convulses, the chief symptoms will be malaise, weakness, nausea and discomfort.
